"I was thrown into the deep end, but I couldn't drown," Jackson said. "Drowning was failure."

Deuteronomy 31:6,8 Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.

The young, beautiful, and dreamy Destiny Jackson has achieved a lot. Jackson, 19, grew up in foster care and was once homeless, but her rocky past has not kept her from achieving success. Jackson felt that he was being talked down to, called a b----, a piece of [dirt], and a dumbass. He didn't feel that he was cared for at home and moved from place to place. "She never had stability," said Belmont Charter principal Genevieve Byrd, who described Jackson as an A and B student with off-the-chart extracurriculars. As a survivor of Type 1 diabetes, Jackson learned how to advocate for herself through her experience. Jackson developed self-confidence and has never given up on herself. "Self-confidence is a gift inside of me," Jackson said. "But my experiences have shined that gift making it bright." Confidence is exactly what it took to get accepted into 50 colleges. Jackson is going to Spelman college. Spelman College is an HBCU for women in Atlanta, Georgia. Spelman doesn't offer much financial assistance, so Destiny is doing a Go Fund Me page and a marketing campaign. Currently she is both president and vice president of her school in Philadelphia, so she strives to become president of the United States one day. We at Black Minds Rise are committed to this movement
Our goal is to promote Destiny's GoFundMe page and donate as much money as we can to help her reach her dreams. Donate to us today and let's make dreams come true.
